They made approx. 75 QSO on 80,40,20 this included the Pentagon Special Events Station and 20+ Countries, all that in a short operating window of about 4 1/2 hours. ![]() Primary radio was a Icom Ic-7000 with a LDG AT-100 Pro autotuner, we setup 4 antennas; an A-99 modified as a 40m vertical, a 40m Delta Loop Vertically polarized, a G5RV that we setup twice " to change location and direction. This station was powered with a MFJ power supply and a Honda 2000w generator. The second station we had was a FT-8800 2m/440 station it was battery operated and used a 5/8 wave vertical and provided Island to parking communication as well as Weather updates. |
![]() Other equipment we use a Dell CPXj Laptop running on AC power and the N1MM logging software for the QSO Party and we were equipped to use Ritty and PSK but did not set it up. Richard also brought a Garmin Air-Nav receiver/loran that we used for live radar updates to monitor storms in the area. Plus the all the usual equipment of tarps, table, coolers ext... We had originally planned to run 2-3 HF Station and had FT-857, IC-706 mark 2, tuners, computers and other support equipment for the other 2 stations but did not setup those station do to storms in the area and to minimize setup time and maximize on the air time. |
