FL479S Peanut Island
The front of the restored U.S. Coast Guard station.

Old Coast Guard Station
After picking up trash on Saturday morning, Kevin W4JKJ, Mike KJ4PN and myself arrived at Peanut Island and set up our Ham Gear. It was a very hot day and spent the first couple of hours experimenting with antennas for two hours and only made one contact from the Coast Guard Boathouse.
We decided to move the gear over to the refurbished US Coast Guard Station and ran a G5RV sloper from the widows walk and set up the Buddy Pole on the Widows Walk. We started making some contacts under tough DX conditions. We started at 11:00am and pulled the plug at 5:00pm.
We qualified Peanut Island with 35 contacts including 4 DXCC countries.
