On April 17, 2010, Darryl W5VK and Chuck WA4IIF qualified AL033S Robinson and AL035S West islands operating W5VK.
This photo, from AL033S, is a perfect example of the operating station being on board the boat and the generator and antenna being on the island.
(Island Criteria #2. "Operation from boats, ships, etc. is allowed as long as some part of the radio station (transceiver, antenna, feed-line or power supply) is physically located on the island."
Station info: IC 706G xcvr, SB 200 amp, MFJ 962 tuner, 33’ homebrew vertical wire dipole on a fiberglass telescopic pole, Honda 2000i generator. Boat (Island Hopper) is a 17’ open runabout with modifications for mounting antennas.
